SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

We accompany all our school lessons with school activities during school hours or during the weekends because we believe that if the student practice the language with other students and Ecuadorian citizens this will help them to feel more confident to speak the language .This is also a way to make our students conscious about the reality, culture and way of living of this beautiful country.

We consider human contact and communication basic for learning a language and understanding a culture.

SCHOOL WEEK ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE LESSON PRICE

Tourist Spanish Hour: The student and teacher arrange two hours during the week where they have a Spanish class outside the school. We have many destinations to recommend, the idea is to help you improve your skills in Spanish in local and touristic places.

The Game of the Week: We have in the school table games useful for practicing vocabulary or oral skills in groups. We organize the students in groups by level to have an hour of Spanish practice in a different way.

Hora Musical: During the week the teacher chooses at least one hour to teach Spanish with music or any kind of listening resource and if you have interests in instrumental music or are studying music, we include basic information of instrumental music theory.

The Atlas hour: Students join together to talk about the traditions, history and culture of their own countries as a way to interact with other students and to share something about their culture. You can also try during these lessons the traditional sweets from Ecuador we bring for this hour!!

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ARE NORMALLY ENJOYED BY MOST OF THE STUDENTS BUT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO JOIN THE ACTIVITIES YOU ARE FREE TO CONTINUE REGULAR LESSONS DURING THIS PERIOD OF TIME.

SCHOOL WEEKEND EXCURSIONS

QUITO OLD TOWN CITY WALKING TOUR:

We start our tour at Plaza Grande, the main square in the old town of Quito, we will take a look of the most important churches in the Old Town as Iglesia La Compañia, La Catedral, San Francisco. We will also take a walk around the main historical buildings in this area as well as visiting the restored Teatro Sucre and “La Ronda”, the oldest and most historic street in Quito.

MITAD DEL MUNDO (EQUATOR) TOUR:

Trip to the famous “Middle of the World Monument” located only at 30 minutes from Quito. You will enjoy during the tour the nice complex formed by a market, a colonial town, museums, shopping area, restaurants, etc. Later we go to Museo Intiñan where the real equator as measured by the Global Positioning System crosses. Several experiments and demonstrations at the Intiñan site are fun and display the differences at the equator and the hemispheres.

OTAVALO AND LAKE SAN PABLO TRIP:

We start our trip visiting Lake San Pablo, the largest lake in Imbabura province, we enjoy the fascinating landscape taking a boat ride around the lake. Later we continue to Otavalo´s traditional Indian market and finally we go take a small hike around Peguche Waterfall just 20 minutes away from Otavalo city.

OTHER TRIPS IN ECUADOR

If you want additionally to arrange other trips in Ecuador we work with two travel agencies in Quito. The first travel agency organizes trips to Ecuadorian mountains like Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Cayambe and more. The other travel agency have trips to other touristic attractions as the Jungle or the Galapagos Islands.
